Portland’s vibrant, friendly Cultural District is the ultimate location for urban dwelling.  With 12 blocks of greenery, statuary, flowers, grasses and trees right outside your front door, your senses will be alive during your morning stroll to the coffee shop, noon jaunt to the museum and evening walk to the theater.  The South Park Blocks offer a taste of nature in the heart of the city. With the new Portland Street Car picking up right outside Benson Tower and the Portland State University campus just a short walk away, you will feel completely connected.

The Benson Tower was named in acknowledgement of the original site of the historic Simon Benson house. The renowned timber baron and civic leader built the house for his family in 1900. In 2000 the house was moved to the Portland State University campus and currently serves as the University's visitor center.
